Some of our Recent Projects
PPD World Headquarters, Wilmington, NC

This privately developed and funded project includes the new construction of a 400,000 square foot office building in the historic district of Wilmington, NC. The facility includes a 14-story structure, with two levels below grade parking, health club, terrace areas, conference center and office space. Scheduled for completion in 2007.

ETROL facility integration services include Total HVAC System Integration of a Trane Chiller Plant, Bell & Gossett Pumping system package, Air Handling Units, VAV Boxes, Exhaust Fans, Caterpillar Generators, a Smart Fuel Storage and delivery system, Complete Lutron Lighting Integration control for the entire facility, power equipment integration and more.

This is an excellent example of integrating multiple equipment vendor's control systems into one, common IT based facility management system.

  Project Triad

North Carolina-based financial client built fast track 25,000 square foot Tier III Data Center. The project was completed in 2007.

This project has ~4500 points connected to the critical facility monitoring system, of which only ~1500 are HVAC related. The remainder are all related to the electrical and support systems. User-friendly items such as automatic emails when CRAC units swap on planned equalized runtime events make the system easy to use and add to the owners' piece of mind.

Electrical equipment integration is a critical piece of the facility monitoring. Alarm limits generate an email message to the appropriate personnel. Caterpillar Generators are monitored via a General Electric PLC in a Russelectric Switchgear. Eaton IQ Analyzers are utilized to monitor real-time facility energy usage. Individual Eaton Breakers are monitored in the switchgear to indicate specific circuit power usage. There is also monitoring of static switches for operation and system information.

Various power distribution equipments by Emerson are monitored by the CFMS including UPS, system bypass modules (SBA), power distribution units (PDUs), and static transfer switches.

Integration to mechanical systems has also been implemented including Liebert Computer Room Unit integration with Liebert SiteGate panel, Distech Lon controllers on office HVAC equipment, DesChamps ventilation units, Lithonia lighting and discrete integration into the fire alarm system.

Wachovia Mortgage Call and Data Center
Wilmington, NC

The Wachovia Mortgage Call and Data Center at Mayfaire Town Center includes integration into Trane Rooftop AHU's, VAV and Fan Powered Boxes and installation of a Liebert Site Scan Control System. Etrol will offer remote alarm and system monitoring of the HVAC systems throughout the warranty period.

This new 90,000 square foot building will bring the total staff to 500 employees making the company one of the top 20 employers in Wilmington.

  NOVO Nordisk Flexpen Facility
Clayton, NC

The Flexpen Facility is an addition to the ever growing campus in Clayton. More than 350 employees work at the facility, devoted to the formulation, aseptic filling, packaging and distribution of insulin products. The site operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

This is the second facility that ETROL has integrated, the first being a recently completed GMP Warehouse.

  Governor's Mansion
Raleigh, NC

In August of 2005, North Carolina Governor Mike Easley and his family were forced from the 30,000 square foot, 4 level Governor's Mansion because of mold. This was the second time in four years that the 114-year-old mansion has been invaded by mold. A complete renovation of the building's HVAC system was completed in early 2006.

ETROL facility integration services included complete Distech HVAC facility automation including integration into a new Carrier air cooled chiller, Air Handlers, Frequency Inverters, VAV boxes and other equipment.

Open system's integration and remote access were important in this facility as it offers little access after the initial installation.

  Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum
Hatteras Village, NC

The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum is a 19,000 square foot museum facility along the outer banks of North Carolina. Built in 2003, the museum houses sensitive artifacts and exhibits in a temperature and humidity controlled facility. Because of it's remote location, system integration and off site access are important in monitoring and troubleshooting the HVAC systems in this important facility.

The Distech system integration includes direct integration into 2 McQuay water cooled DX Air Handling Units, cooling towers, VAV boxes and 2 hot water boilers.

When you are in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, be sure to visit this interesting museum.
