This privately developed and funded project includes the new construction of a 400,000 square foot office building in the historic district of Wilmington, NC. This 14-story structure features two levels below grade parking, a health club, data communications center, 600-person capacity conference room as well as the two upper floors designated as Mechanical Equipment penthouses.
Facility integration includes a total HVAC system integration of a Trane chiller plant, Bell & Gossett pumping system package, air handling units, VAV boxes, exhaust fans, Caterpillar generators, smart fuel storage and delivery system, a complete Lutron lighting integration for the entire facility, and power equipment integration.
This project required a total of 8 building controllers and approximately 600 field devices as well as an Enterprise Automation Server. This is an excellent example of integrating multiple equipment vendors' control systems into one, common IT-based facility management system.
The customer is a leading global contract research organization (CRO), providing drug discovery, development and lifecycle management services with offices in 42 countries and more than 10,500 professionals worldwide. Clients and partners include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, academic and government organizations.
