This project, totaling 97,000 square feet, consists of a large meeting area and training room; the Fishery Museum and reception area / lobby; an exercise room with locker facilities; canoe storage space; walk-in coolers and freezers; and laboratories serving non-sea salt sulfate (NSS) research and seafood inspections.
Envirotrol combined Lean Technologies with Severe Weather Response to program the facility operations. Gloucester is located about 45 miles northeast of Boston and is situated next to the Atlantic Ocean. Because of its location, the facility endures some of the most challenging weather thus putting the center focus on setting up facility operations, providing operating procedures and severe weather procedures.
Facility integration includes controls for 1 rooftop unit and 1 penthouse with direct integration to AHU fan, hot water/chilled water VFD's, chiller, humidifier. Discreet control of secondary chilled water loop system, primary chilled water loop, secondary hot water loop and 2 VAV custom built AHU's. Network of all mechanical systems including local ATC and provided controls into a new Enterprise Automation server with all web graphics. Provision and installation of all switch gear, transformers, starters, VFD's, lights, fire alarm rough in, lightning protection rough in inside the rooftop unit and penthouse.
The Northeast Regional Office (NERO) houses office suites for the National Marine Fisheries Services (NMFS). The fisheries service is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, itself a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and is responsible for protecting and managing marine resources.
