Job Description

Commercial/Industrial HVAC Test & Balance Technician with proven Supervisory/Leadership experience and excellent communication skills. Must be organized and be able to multi task. Must possess experience in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide variety of air handling, exhaust systems, ductwork, and fluid flow equipment associated with commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

Routine duties include maintaining proper documentation using work orders and reports of all Test & Balance work performed and calibration of test equipment. As a working Lead duties also include airflow volume and velocity, static pressure and uniformity testing, differential pressurization testing, airflow visualization, performing particle counts, performing filter/ceiling leakage tests, routine preventative maintenance. Ownership of some systems related to clean room air quality. Coordinate sub-contractor work for services and repairs of equipment or systems.

Applicants must be able to interface with the construction and manufacturing personal to facilitate the balancing of highly critical industrial exhaust system and other related services in industrial and commercial facilities.

• Adhere to all site standards for safety, quality, housekeeping and security.
• Works as a skilled craftsman, performing complex trouble shooting and repairs on all types of industrial equipment.
• Operate and interpret standard electrical and electronic diagnostic equipment and precision measuring tools.
• Works on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic control, hydraulic control, lubricating regulator and thermostatic components of systems, structures and equipment.
• Maintains equipment and systems maintenance logs.
• Implement standard trade practices and procedures coexistent with proper safety precautions, to produce quality workmanship, commensurate with that of a journeyperson skilled in areas such as HVAC, electricity and electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc
• Read and understand blueprints and/or schematic diagrams.
• Has some administrative, computer, communication and leadership skills.

 Qualifications

• Must possess leadership/Supervisory Skills.
• 10 years HVAC related experience
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access)
• May require specific licensing: Recognized Test & Balance certification training
• Valid drivers license good driving record.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• AS Engineering Technology preferred but not required

 Special Requirements

• Must wear personal protective equipment as required for protection and specific site protocol.
• May be required to wear cleanroom apparel and comply with Micron Protocol when working in clean room spaces.
• Must be proficient with Particle counters, AirData multimeters, HydroData multimeter, Back pressure compensated flow hood
