 Job Description

This position is a shift operations technician responsible for maintaining optimum operating conditions on sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems within a mission critical environment. Successful candidates for this position must possess a high level understanding of electrical and/or mechanical processes and has experience in the observation, analysis and correction of operational systems in a 24/7 facility. This position is responsible for daily shift log data, daily communication reports, emergency incident notifications, verifying W/O completion from their team members, and direct operations communication.

  • Work with other departments to identify critical down systems and redirect their team (including vendors) to bring systems back on line.
  • Help develop team atmosphere by training and assisting others on team members.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure proper attention is directed to equipment that has been identified by W/O as needing attention.
  • Analyze electrical and/or mechanical problems on assigned systems equipment, determining the correct cause of action, executing repairs quickly, accurately and effectively, and detailed reporting.
  • Ensure completion of assigned preventative maintenance inspections/repairs of systems equipment.
  • Assist in the management of spare parts inventory, ensuring that the correct level of inventory is available.
  • Enter all maintenance activities into an internal tracking system, as well as a daily shift log for data trending.
  • Actively participate within a team framework. Work closely with their team, the client's personnel and other contractors.
  • Effectively resolve electrical and/or mechanical problems on assigned equipment while following the precise processes outlined in standard operating procedures, emergency operating procedures and method procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
 Requirements
  • Minimum two years experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance environment working with HVAC and Siemens PMS control systems.
  • Associates degree, trade school certification or military experience preferred, or other verifiable, relevant training.
  • Successful mechanical candidates must have or obtain a Universal Refrigerant certification; electrical candidates must have or obtain licensing by the local jurisdiction.
  • Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical theory and principles, and statuary codes.
  • Ability to use and understand advanced mathematics, handbook formulas, and other sources of technical information.
  • Knowledge and experience with computer based control systems required. Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, shop equipment and machining tools.
  • Proficiency in the use of a personal computer as a data collection tool.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
